Hassan (formerly Antarajnani/AJ) Swanson (Carnation, WA)
The Dances of Universal Peace entered Hassan's bloodstream when he was in his 20s and he's been infused ever since. He loves to lead dances and zikrs, and has done so since 1980 in the US, Canada, Mexico, and recently in Guatemala. He believes that the infectious joy and energy of the Dances is a balm that the world can use at this time of turbulence and great challenges.
Karima Leslie Grove (Portland, OR)
Karima's first experience of the Dances was in 1973 during a college class. Fast forward to 2008 when she led her first dance at a dance deepening with Khalil Elliott. Karima has been leading dances for 9 years in Portland. She currently leads at St Michael's and All Angels Friday night circle. She loves the beauty of the dances: sound, movement, and the wonderful connection to greater peace and unity in our world.
Jen Friedman (Longmont, CO)
Jen has been leading dances for 9 years and founded the Longmont, CO Dance circle. She is an interfaith hospital chaplain and music minister sharing musical church services and the Dances at Unitarian Universalist and Unity churches. She is also the regional administrator for Dances of Universal Peace North America and is passionate about intersectional and intergenerational outreach to grow the Dances’ capacity to catalyze transformation in our world.
